We are currently in the process of developing small IPP, i.e. 1-5 MW, projects which are at various stages of development at designated sites with high levels of solar irradiation. The sites have been strategically selected and therefore there will be minimal developmental costs. The projects have a combined portfolio of 35 MW. These projects are being prepared to be submitted at various stages of bid submissions of the Small IPP programme. They will feed power into the National Distribution Grid. The sites that are selected are on rural communal land and therefore there is an opportunity for rural and economic development through job creations and community ownership.
